In a significant development, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has called off its sit-in in Gwadar after successful talks with local administration officials. The sit-in was ended on Thursday night after an agreement was signed by Dr. Mahrang Baloch, representing the protesters, and Gwadar’s deputy commissioner.
According to a declaration issued by the Balochistan Home Ministry, internet services have been restored in the area following the agreement. The government has also vowed to open all roads for traffic and remove obstacles, allowing for the free movement of people and goods.
Moreover, the arrested individuals will be released after the protesters disperse peacefully. The protesters were demanding the recovery of missing persons, a long-standing issue in the region.
Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove stated that the government’s doors are open for talks, but warned that conspiracies against Pakistan will not be tolerated. He accused anti-state elements of instigating innocent Baloch people against the state.
The sit-in began when protesters were stopped from participating in the BYC’s Gwadar meeting, leading to clashes and injuries. The protesters were demanding the release of missing persons and an end to human rights violations in the region.
The successful negotiations mark a significant step towards resolving the issues faced by the Baloch people. The government’s willingness to engage in dialogue and address the concerns of the protesters is a positive development.
