Top Military Strategist of Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Eliminated in Joint Operation

In a significant blow to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a top military strategist was eliminated in a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by the Pakistan Army and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in a village on the edge of Peshawar. Abdul Raheem, the highly wanted terrorist commander, carried a multimillion bounty on his head and was killed along with his second-in-command and a guard.

The operation was carried out in response to the reported presence of a high-profile terrorist in the area. During the intense exchange of fire, four security men were also martyred, including two army soldiers, Sepoy Muhammad Idrees and Sepoy Badam Gul, and two CTD officials, Sub Inspector Tajmir Shah and Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram.

Abdul Raheem was responsible for numerous terrorist activities, including the martyrdom of Captain Hussain Jehangir Shaheed and Havildar Shafiq Ullah Shaheed on 26 May 2024. He was TTP’s chief operations commander in the region and a member of the group’s Peshawar Shura. The military confirmed the martyrdom of four brave soldiers during the intense exchange of fire, and their sacrifices further strengthen the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to ensure peace and stability across the country.

The operation is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Pakistan. The military and law enforcement agencies have been working tirelessly to eliminate terrorist elements, and this operation demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the country.
