Monsoon Rain Hits Karachi, Leaving One Dead and Another Injured

Karachi, Pakistan – A powerful spell of monsoon rain struck various parts of Karachi on Tuesday, resulting in one fatality and one injury, as reported by ARY News. The rain caused widespread disruptions, with several areas experiencing heavy downpours, strong winds, and power outages.

The deceased and injured individuals were caught under a collapsing signboard and wall in Surjani Town, Sector 7A, near the Tanki Stop. Rescue sources confirmed the incident, highlighting the devastating impact of the rain. Another signboard collapse occurred in Gulshan-e-Muamar due to strong winds, accompanied by heavy rain and water accumulation in the streets.

The affected areas included Scheme 33, Safoora Goth, Pehlwan Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Quaidabad, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, and Tariq Road. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted the rain, stating that some parts of Karachi would experience rain with thunderstorms despite the forecast of hot and humid weather.

The rain caused significant disruptions, with power outages reported in several areas, leaving residents without electricity. The Met Office warned of light to moderate rain in some areas, emphasizing the need for caution during the monsoon season.
