Islamabad( The COW News Digital) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sahibzada Hamid Raza has resigned from his position as Information Secretary of the opposition alliance, Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan.

According to details, the decision came after an emergency meeting of the Sunni Ittehad Council, of which Hamid Raza is a key leader. Speaking to the media, Raza confirmed that he had submitted his resignation in line with party directives.

“I have stepped down from my position as Information Secretary of the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan,” Hamid Raza stated. “The party leadership was informed about my decision, and I have already communicated it to the alliance spokesperson, Akhunzada Hussain.”

Hamid Raza emphasized that his resignation from the opposition alliance post does not indicate any shift in his political stance or loyalties. “I was with Imran Khan, and I will continue to stand with him,” he reaffirmed, underscoring his ongoing support for PTI’s leadership and agenda.

The move has sparked speculation about internal rifts within the opposition alliance, which was formed to collectively resist what it describes as unconstitutional measures by the government. Analysts suggest that the resignation could signal differences over the alliance’s strategy, messaging, or coordination with PTI leadership.

The Sunni Ittehad Council’s emergency meeting reportedly discussed future plans for opposition activities and organizational restructuring. Sources close to the party say Hamid Raza’s decision was aimed at focusing more on parliamentary work and constituency politics rather than alliance-wide responsibilities.

Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan, a coalition of opposition parties, has been actively protesting against alleged curbs on democratic rights, judicial independence, and media freedom. The alliance has held rallies and press conferences across the country, seeking to mobilize public support.

Political observers are now watching whether Hamid Raza’s resignation will lead to further changes within the opposition alliance or trigger a reshuffling of key posts. The alliance is expected to announce a replacement for the position of Information Secretary in the coming days.

Despite the development, PTI leaders insist that their commitment to the opposition coalition remains unchanged and that the party will continue to support joint efforts aimed at “restoring constitutional supremacy.”
