Skardu ( The COW News Digital) Renowned Pakistani singer Quratulain Balouch, popularly known as QB, was injured in a bear attack while camping in Deosai National Park, a remote but scenic location in northern Pakistan.

According to local sources, the incident occurred late Wednesday night when a bear strayed close to a campsite where Balouch and her companions were staying. Despite efforts to ward off the animal, the bear reportedly charged, leaving the singer with injuries on both her arms.

Medical officials at the Regional Hospital Skardu confirmed that Balouch sustained lacerations caused by the bear’s claws. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where doctors provided emergency treatment. “Her injuries are not life-threatening,” a hospital spokesperson assured. “She was given proper medical care and discharged after her condition stabilized.”

Eyewitnesses described the attack as sudden and terrifying. “We were sitting around the campsite when we heard rustling nearby. Within moments, the bear lunged toward her,” said one of her companions. “It was chaotic, but we managed to scare it away before more harm could be done.”

Balouch, who has a large fan base in Pakistan and abroad, is best known for her soulful voice and hit songs featured in both Coke Studio and Pakistani films. News of the incident spread quickly on social media, with fans expressing shock and concern, while also praying for her swift recovery.

Wildlife experts have long warned about the increasing frequency of human-wildlife encounters in the Deosai region, a protected national park famous for its population of Himalayan brown bears. Authorities stress that tourists and campers must exercise extreme caution when venturing into such habitats.

Local officials stated they are investigating the incident and will consider tightening safety protocols at the park. “We urge visitors to avoid camping in isolated areas and to follow the guidelines provided by park authorities,” said a representative of the Gilgit-Baltistan Wildlife Department.

While shaken by the event, Balouch is reported to be recovering well and is expected to resume her professional engagements once fully healed. The incident has sparked fresh debate on balancing eco-tourism with wildlife protection in Pakistan’s northern regions.
