New York ( The COW News Digital) Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour delivered an impassioned address to the UN Security Council, urging the international community to move beyond words and take concrete action to halt what he described as Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

“Sympathy statements are not enough; the world must act now,” Mansour said, criticizing what he called the “paralyzing silence” of global powers in the face of mass civilian casualties in Gaza. He warned that if the UN and its member states limit themselves to condemnations and resolutions, the institution’s credibility and very existence will be called into question.

Mansour called for an immediate end to the bloodshed, stressing that analytical discussions and draft resolutions will not save lives unless accompanied by decisive measures. “Israel neither cares about the suffering of the Palestinian people nor the opinion of the international community,” he declared.

Referring to the devastation in Gaza, the envoy said the reality on the ground will be recorded by history, and those responsible will be held accountable sooner or later. “Justice may be delayed, but it will not be denied,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to nations and individuals who have shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause, but reiterated that moral support must be matched by practical steps.

In a sharp critique of Israel, Mansour accused it of blatant violations of international law, the UN Charter, and multiple Security Council resolutions. “If Israel refuses to abide by any law, why is it still allowed to sit in this chamber?” he asked.

Mansour questioned why the same diplomatic tools and enforcement measures the Security Council uses against other states have not been applied to Israel, implying a double standard in the Council’s approach.

Describing conditions in Gaza as “unbearable,” he alleged that Israel has been implementing a long-standing plan to systematically destroy the Palestinian people. The ambassador called on the global community to end what he described as a policy of collective punishment and to protect Palestinians under international law.

As the conflict grinds on, his speech served as both a warning and a plea — warning that history will judge inaction harshly, and pleading for the world to act before more lives are lost.
