til Aviv( The COW News Digital)Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly considering a major escalation of military operations in Gaza, with intentions to extend control across the entire Gaza Strip, according to Israeli media reports.

Channel 12 News reported on Monday that Netanyahu is actively reviewing plans to intensify military action, possibly including a full-scale occupation of all areas within Gaza. These expanded operations are expected to target locations suspected of holding Israeli hostages, as well as zones previously avoided due to humanitarian concerns.

The final decision regarding the expansion of operations is expected to be made in the upcoming Israeli cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday, the report added.

This move follows an earlier report by Haaretz newspaper on July 29, which claimed that Netanyahu had introduced a U.S.-approved plan to the cabinet for reoccupying specific parts of Gaza. The plan has reportedly stirred internal debate within the Israeli government, with some security officials expressing concerns over the long-term consequences of a complete military takeover.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 60,839 Palestinians have been killed and 149,588 injured since the Israeli offensive began on October 7, 2023. The continued bombardment has devastated civilian infrastructure and displaced millions.

Tragically, children remain the most affected by the conflict. Turkish media reports state that at least 18,592 children have been killed so far, making up 31% of the total casualties in Gaza since the war began nearly 22 months ago. Every passing moment in Gaza, the report claims, “costs the life of another Palestinian child.”

This latest military strategy, if implemented, is likely to trigger further condemnation from the international community, which has already raised serious concerns over Israel’s repeated violations of international humanitarian law. Human rights groups and UN agencies have continued to call for an immediate ceasefire, citing the alarming scale of civilian suffering and infrastructure collapse in Gaza.

As pressure mounts both internationally and domestically, Netanyahu’s proposed expansion into Gaza could mark a critical and controversial turning point in the ongoing conflict.
