Islamabad( The COW News Digital)Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed deep gratitude to Pakistan for supporting Iran’s stance against Israeli aggression and emphasized the urgent need for unity among Muslim nations. Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House, President Pezeshkian described Pakistan as Iran’s “second home.”
“Pakistan’s support during Israel’s attacks has meant a great deal to us,” President Pezeshkian stated. “In today’s world, unity among the Muslim Ummah is not just desirable—it is essential.”
The Iranian leader is on a three-day official visit to Pakistan aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. During the press conference, both nations signed 13 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering trade, energy, security cooperation, and border management. The agreements are seen as a major step forward in improving regional connectivity and economic collaboration.
President Pezeshkian noted the deep cultural, historical, and religious bonds between the two neighboring countries, asserting that Iran’s relationship with Pakistan is based on mutual respect and shared values. “Our ties are not just political; they are rooted in a centuries-old heritage,” he said.
Highlighting the regional crisis, the Iranian president reiterated Iran’s firm stance on resisting Israeli actions in Gaza and thanked Pakistan for aligning itself with the cause of oppressed Palestinians. “We stand together for justice and peace,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking earlier, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran’s right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to advocate for Iran’s rights in international forums.
This visit marks President Pezeshkian’s first official trip to Pakistan since assuming office earlier this year. Observers believe the renewed diplomatic engagement reflects a shared desire to enhance cooperation amid rising regional instability and evolving global power dynamics.
Both leaders also discussed ways to counter terrorism, boost cross-border trade, and expedite infrastructure projects including pipelines and transportation links connecting the two countries.
In conclusion, the Iranian president called for the collective awakening of the Islamic world and reiterated that unity, dialogue, and mutual support are the only viable path forward.
