Islamabad( The COW News Digital)In the ongoing 2025 World Championship of Legends held in England, the Indian Legends team, which had previously refused to play against the Green Shirts (Pakistan) in the initial stage, is set to face Pakistan once again in the semi-finals.

On Tuesday, India secured their place in the semi-finals by defeating the West Indies Legends in a crucial match. Batting first, West Indies set a target of 145 runs in 20 overs for India to chase. However, the Indian Legends needed to achieve this target within 14.1 overs to qualify for the semi-finals based on net run rate.

Thanks to a brilliant half-century from Stuart Binny, India chased down the target in just 13.2 overs, losing five wickets in the process. This win made India the fourth and final team to qualify for the semi-finals.

Earlier the same day, Pakistan Legends crushed Australia Legends by 10 wickets, topping the points table with a dominant performance. Australia and South Africa had already secured their spots in the semi-finals prior to these matches.

With India’s win, the semi-final lineup for the event is now complete. The first semi-final will see the top-ranked Pakistan Legends face the fourth-placed India Legends on July 31. The second semi-final will be played between South Africa and Australia on the same day.

It is important to recall that the initial Pakistan-India match was canceled after Indian players refused to play against Pakistan. Reports suggest that the Indian players demanded that Shahid Afridi not be included in the playing eleven, with cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, and Harbhajan Singh opposing the match. Following this, tournament organizers expressed regret over the cancellation.

Now the cricketing world watches closely to see if the Indian Legends will compete against Pakistan in the semi-final or repeat their earlier refusal to play against the Green Shirts. This upcoming encounter will not only be a sporting contest but also a test of sportsmanship and rivalry between the two cricketing nations.

The Legends League continues to offer thrilling moments and emotional cricket battles, reminding fans of the intense yet respectful rivalry shared by Pakistan and India on the cricket field.
