First Sikh from Khyber elected to KP Assembly on minority seat

PESHAWAR:( The COW News Digital)-In a first, a Sikh has been elected a minority member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from the Khyber District.

This event marks a significant milestone for the region’s Sikh community.

After the allocation of reserved seats in the provincial assembly, Baba Gurpal Singh, a prominent religious leader of the Sikh community, has been selected on the minority seat allocated to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). He hails from the Malik Deen Khel tribe in Bara, Khyber District.

Baba Gurpal Singh’s election is being hailed as a major step toward greater minority representation and inclusion in the political landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
