Islamabad:( The COW News Digital )-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to do away with the Rs35 PTV fee, which is charged with electricity bills, TCND reported on Sunday.
Currently, the government is collecting Rs35 PTV fee from domestic and industrial consumers of electricity through electricity bills. However, now on the instructions of the prime minister, the authorities have decided to abolish the PTV fee and some other surcharges.
The Pakistani government has been collecting Rs35 PTV fee from 42.6 million people through their electricity bills for the last couple of decades. The total amount collected in the name of PTV fee is around Rs1.5 billion per month.
