Washington ( The COW News Digital )U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he saved Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei but never received any gratitude in return. In a recent statement, Trump criticized Khamenei’s assertions about victory in conflicts, calling them foolish and dishonest.

Trump questioned why the Iranian Supreme Leader would claim to have won a war against Israel, labeling the statement as a blatant lie. “An honest person should not lie, and Khamenei knows this is false,” Trump said.

He also revealed that he knew the exact location where Khamenei was taking refuge during tensions. Trump asserted that he deliberately prevented Israeli or American forces from targeting the Iranian leader. “I saved the Iranian Supreme Leader, yet he never thanked me,” he added.

The former president emphasized the necessity for Iran to reintegrate into the global system, warning that failure to do so would lead to worsening conditions for the country. Trump mentioned that he had been working on easing sanctions and other diplomatic efforts in recent days, aiming to provide Iran with a better chance for stable recovery.

However, he said that hostile and hateful rhetoric from Iranian leaders abruptly halted his progress. “My efforts to lift sanctions and improve relations were stopped by angry and bitter statements,” Trump lamented.

This statement comes amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, with Trump’s administration previously having imposed severe economic sanctions on the country. His remarks underscore the complexity of the diplomatic relations and the challenges in engaging with Iran’s leadership.

Experts view Trump’s comments as part of his broader political narrative, especially given his contentious relationship with Iran during and after his presidency. The lack of direct response from Iranian officials to Trump’s claim further complicates the dialogue between the two nations.

Trump’s remarks highlight the delicate balance of power in the Middle East and the unresolved conflicts that continue to shape international diplomacy. The situation remains tense, with diplomatic efforts facing obstacles from both sides.
