Islamabad(TheCOWNews Digital)In a powerful show of diplomatic unity, foreign ministers from 21 Muslim-majority nations, including Pakistan, have jointly condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, labeling them a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The strong-worded joint statement was released following an emergency virtual summit, convened in the wake of escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran since June 13. The declaration underscored the grave regional risks posed by Israel’s continued military actions and warned of severe consequences for global peace and stability.

Violation of Sovereignty and UN Principles

The foreign ministers criticized the Israeli attacks as “an assault on Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” calling the aggression a direct threat to Middle East peace. They stated that the strikes represent a dangerous attempt to destabilize the region, and violate not only the sovereign rights of nations but also foundational principles of peaceful coexistence.

“The Israeli air raids on Iran are a flagrant breach of the UN Charter and established international norms,” the statement read, urging the international community to intervene immediately to prevent a broader regional conflict.

Call for Immediate Ceasefire and Diplomacy

The ministers urged immediate de-escalation and called for the restoration of diplomatic processes to prevent further loss of life and instability. They appealed to the UN Security Council, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and regional stakeholders to push for a comprehensive ceasefire and mediate dialogue between conflicting parties.

“The only path forward is through diplomacy, not war,” the declaration emphasized. “We must preserve the sovereignty of nations and promote peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect.”

Support for Iran and Condemnation of Double Standards

The declaration also expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, who have suffered casualties and significant damage amid the Israeli strikes. Ministers pointed out the hypocrisy of global powers who selectively apply international law, criticizing the lack of global response to Israeli military actions compared to other global crises.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister emphasized that continued silence on such aggression only emboldens further violations, adding that the region cannot afford another prolonged conflict in an already volatile geopolitical environment.

Regional Peace at Risk

The statement comes at a time when Iran and Israel have been engaged in intense military exchanges, with both sides suffering casualties. According to recent reports, 24 Israelis have died and over 600 have been injured due to Iranian retaliatory missile strikes, while Iran has also endured significant losses, including high-ranking commanders and civilian fatalities.

Diplomatic analysts believe that the collective Muslim stance could help steer the situation toward a negotiated solution, especially if supported by neutral global powers like China, Russia, and EU members.

This coordinated condemnation is being seen as a rare moment of alignment in the Muslim world, which has often struggled to present a unified foreign policy voice in past conflicts.
