Tehran(TheCOWNews Digital)In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Iran launched a second large-scale missile attack on Israel early Sunday morning, targeting key cities including Tel Aviv and Haifa. According to Iranian and international media reports, dozens of ballistic missiles were fired, leaving at least 14 Israelis dead and over 300 injured. The attack caused extensive damage, with multiple buildings reduced to rubble and large fires breaking out—most notably at the Haifa power plant.

Israeli military sources confirmed the strikes and reported the presence of Iranian fighter jets in the country’s northern region. Sirens blared across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, triggering widespread panic. One of the missiles reportedly struck near the Dimona nuclear facility, raising further alarm.

In retaliation, Israel launched a series of airstrikes across Iran, including the capital Tehran, Mashhad, and surrounding areas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed to have successfully targeted the intelligence headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), resulting in the deaths of IRGC Intelligence Chief Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi and his deputy Hassan Mohaghegh. Iranian media later confirmed their deaths.

Further attacks in Tehran included a car bomb blast that killed five more nuclear scientists, raising the total number of slain Iranian scientists in recent days to 14. Iran’s health ministry reported that over the last 48 hours, 128 Iranians, including 40 women and several children, have been killed, with nearly 900 injured.

Iran also claimed a successful missile strike on the Haifa port and released footage of the operation. On the same day, Iranian security forces arrested two alleged Mossad agents in Tehran, accused of multiple assassinations and sabotage activities.

Israeli strikes have also reportedly damaged critical infrastructure, including water pipelines in Tehran, resulting in severe flooding and traffic gridlock. Meanwhile, the Mashhad airport was targeted, halting all operations, though its runway remains intact.

Iran has vowed continued retaliation, firing 50 additional missiles at Tel Aviv and Haifa later in the day. Fears persist that Israel may target Iran’s top political leadership, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The situation in the Middle East has now entered a highly volatile and dangerous phase, as both sides brace for further confrontation.
