UK :(TheCOWNews Digital) -British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the deployment of military aircraft to the Middle East, citing the need for emergency support amid increasing regional tensions, reported the The COW News Digital on Sunday.

Speaking to the media ahead of his departure to attend the G7 Summit in Canada, Starmer confirmed that the UK is relocating military assets, including aircraft, to the region. “I will always make the right decisions in Britain’s interest,” the Prime Minister said.

The decision follows a high-stakes maritime incident in which a British spy warship was intercepted by Iranian forces. The vessel, according to Iranian reports, had entered the northern Indian Ocean as part of an intelligence mission allegedly aimed at guiding Israeli missile strikes toward Iranian targets.

Iran’s naval surveillance systems detected the vessel’s movement early, and Iranian drones issued a sharp warning, ultimately forcing the ship to abandon its advance toward the Persian Gulf.

Iranian officials stated that the ship was tasked with providing intelligence support to Israel, and that their timely and decisive military action successfully thwarted the covert operation.

The UK’s recent air deployment indicates a serious escalation of military posture, signalling heightened concern over regional instability and potential conflict spillover.

The move has stirred fresh debate over Britain’s role in Middle East conflicts, especially in light of the tense standoff between Iran and Western allies of Israel.
