The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed allegations of rigging made by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the PP-52 Sialkot by-election, calling them baseless.

In a statement, the Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab responded to PPP Punjab President Raja Pervez Ashraf’s claims that polling agents and voters were being expelled from polling stations. The commissioner asserted there was no evidence supporting the accusations.

“If the PPP leader has any concrete proof, he should formally submit it to the ECP,” said the provincial commissioner. “The commission is committed to addressing any legitimate complaints without delay.”

The ECP also denied reports that polling stations were closed during voting, labeling such claims as entirely false.

The District Monitoring Officer confirmed that polling across all stations in the PP-52 constituency continued smoothly and peacefully throughout the day.
