Lahore Qalandars’ South African all-rounder David Wiese has lauded Pakistan’s security arrangements, stating that foreign players were looked after in the best possible way during the recent spike in Indo-Pak tensions.

Speaking on social media, Wiese shared his experience of being in Pakistan during a sensitive period when geopolitical strains between India and Pakistan raised concerns over travel safety and security. “We were worried about the airspace being shut down, but the Pakistani authorities reassured us,” he said. “As always, they provided excellent security. Even in such tense times, we didn’t feel unsafe or face any extraordinary situations.”

Wiese’s remarks come in contrast to comments made by Australian-born New Zealand cricketer Alyssa Healy, who openly criticized the security management in India during a recent tour. While Healy expressed her frustration with the conditions there, Wiese highlighted the professionalism and preparedness shown by Pakistani officials.

Foreign players from both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Indian Premier League (IPL) have been sharing their experiences on social media, particularly reflecting on how each country handled player safety amid regional uncertainty.

Wiese emphasized that Pakistan’s security teams remained calm, organized, and responsive throughout. “In difficult times, it’s easy to panic, but we were constantly assured. It speaks volumes about the trust we’ve come to place in the arrangements made here,” he noted.

The Lahore Qalandars star’s comments are being seen as a vote of confidence for Pakistan’s continued efforts to project itself as a safe and welcoming destination for international sports.
