In a strong response to India’s diplomatic maneuvers following its military defeat, Pakistan has declared an Indian diplomat posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad “persona non grata” and ordered him to leave the country.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued by spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, the Indian diplomat was deemed to have engaged in activities incompatible with his diplomatic status.
The Pakistani government cited the diplomat’s actions as a violation of diplomatic norms, leading to the decision to expel him. The diplomat, identified as Shankar Reddy Chintala, was reportedly involved in espionage activities. As a result, Pakistan instructed him to leave within 24 hours.
In addition to this, the Indian Charge d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was formally notified of Pakistan’s protest through an official diplomatic note.
The Indian High Commission was also instructed to ensure that Chintala and his family depart from Pakistan within the stipulated time.
