Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was re-elected unopposed as the chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for a four-year term.
According to an announcement, the PPP intra-party elections were held at the central secretariat on Saturday in accordance with the party constitution and office-bearers have been elected for a term of four years.
As per the announcement of convener of PPP’s election body for PPP’s intra-party election Ms Fauzia Habib, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been elected as PPP chairman, Humayun Khan as secretary general, Nadeem Afzal Chan as secretary information and Amna Piracha as secretary finance. The last PPP intra-party elections were held on January 7, 2021 in which Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was elected as chairman.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday congratulated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on getting elected as PPP chairman. He felicitated Humayun Khan for being elected as PPP secretary general, Nadeem Afzal Chan as secretary information and Amna Piracha as secretary finance. The prime minister expressed best wishes for the newly elected leadership of Pakistan People’s Party. He said under the youthful leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP will continue to play a key role in the country’s development and progress by representing the aspirations of the people.
Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani congratulated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on being elected as party chairman and said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s unopposed election as chairman is a manifestation of the workers’ full confidence.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also congratulated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on being re-elected unopposed as the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
