Veteran actress Sania Saeed has voiced her disappointment over the quality of storytelling in Pakistani dramas, stating that while the industry has talented actors, its writers are failing to deliver compelling narratives.

In a recent interview, Sania Saeed expressed concern over the superficial nature of scripts being written, calling it both frustrating and disheartening. She praised several actors, including Hania Aamir, for improving her craft in a short span of time. She also commended Sajal Aly, Saba Qamar, and Yumna Zaidi for their exceptional performances.

The actress revealed that she has not yet worked with Yumna Zaidi but expressed her desire to collaborate with her in the future. Additionally, she shared her appreciation for working alongside Naumaan Ijaz, describing their collaborations as some of her most fulfilling experiences due to the complexity of their roles.

Sania Saeed also acknowledged Humayun Saeed’s acting potential, stating that he can deliver outstanding performances if he chooses the right roles. Furthermore, she praised the work of Adnan Siddiqui and Sarmad Khoosat, while also recognizing the efforts of new actors entering the industry.

Discussing the current state of Pakistani dramas, Sania Saeed pointed out that actors are often given simple and predictable roles that align with their personalities because there is a lack of original character development. She expressed disappointment over the industry’s failure to create strong scripts and compelling characters.

“The fact that we are not producing good stories and well-written scripts is truly upsetting,” she remarked, adding that this remains her biggest frustration with the entertainment industry.

Despite the challenges in storytelling, Sania Saeed remains hopeful about the talent of Pakistani actors, emphasizing that the problem lies in the writing, not the performances.
