Doha:Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that a ceasefire in Gaza will begin tomorrow morning, local time. The spokesperson stated that the implementation of the ceasefire will be ensured, with the first phase lasting six weeks. As part of the agreement, over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners will be released in exchange for 33 hostages. Israel has already begun preparations for the release of the Palestinian detainees.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari advised, “We urge our brothers to remain cautious, exercise extreme care, and await instructions from official sources.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition government has reached an agreement with Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza. The Palestinian Authority has announced that it is ready to assume “full responsibility” in Gaza once the ceasefire agreement is implemented.

According to Al Jazeera, since the announcement of the ceasefire deal on Wednesday night, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 122 Palestinians, including 33 children.

Qatar hopes the ceasefire will end the ongoing massacre in Gaza. UNICEF reports that during Israel’s 15-month military campaign, nearly 35 Palestinian children were killed daily. Since October 7, 2023, at least 46,899 Palestinians have been killed and 110,725 injured. Meanwhile, during Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, at least 1,139 people were killed, and over 200 were taken hostage.
