Temporary Camps to Be Set Up for Victims in Hangu
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has finalized its decision to conduct an operation in Kurram Agency to restore law and order in the region.
According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kurram, temporary camps will be established for the victims of the operation. These camps will be set up in the Hangu district.
The provincial government plans to establish camps at two colleges, a rescue compound, and a judicial building in Hangu.
This decision follows a recent attack in Kurram district, where a convoy carrying relief supplies to Parachinar was ambushed in the Bagan area. The attack resulted in the deaths of several individuals, including a soldier, and four drivers whose bodies were found showing signs of torture.
Assistant Commissioner of Hangu, Syed Manan, confirmed the attack on the convoy, which consisted of 35 vehicles carrying aid to Parachinar.
Reports later confirmed that the death toll from the attack had risen to 10, including one additional security personnel, six drivers, and two passengers, according to District Health Officer (DHO) Qaiser Abbas.
