Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has alleged that those who accuse others of being “thieves” are themselves involved in criminal activities, specifically referring to the recent court decision in the Al-Qadir University case.

Speaking to the media in Sialkot, Khawaja Asif stated that the long-running case had proven that those shouting “thief” were themselves implicated in a robbery. He claimed that while members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were in jail, the accused were planning criminal activities at that time.

Asif further accused the accused of funneling funds from the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK into a business tycoon’s account, without informing the cabinet. He emphasized that the cabinet cannot approve illegal actions, and that the ongoing corruption cases against state officials should not be a cause for celebration.

The defense minister also spoke about the political situation, asserting that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been falsely implicated in cases. He called the current court decision a form of retribution and challenged the allegations against Nawaz, highlighting his contributions to the country’s infrastructure.

Khawaja Asif praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for stabilizing the country’s economy, stating that inflation was decreasing, and loans were being reduced. He also noted that the founder of PTI had himself praised the government’s economic management.

The PML-N leader expressed support for political dialogue, claiming to be one of the strongest advocates for negotiations. He criticized those who, after agreeing to talks, later deny having met, calling it a recent issue.

Asif concluded by stating that the future of any political party is determined by the public, and highlighted how several former PTI members, expelled from the party, are still vocal in their support.
