A standoff between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and Adiala Jail authorities continued regarding meetings with former Prime Minister Imran Khan, with the PTI founder spending the entire day in isolation despite it being a designated meeting day. For the first time in over 18 months, no party leader, family member, or lawyer visited him.

Reacting to the situation, Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, stated that “if the jail authorities call us, we will come.” On the other hand, Adiala Jail officials argued, “We cannot grant permission unless someone arrives to meet him.”

According to reports, this marked the first instance in one and a half years that no individual from Khan’s family, party, or legal team visited him, despite the scheduled day for meetings. The lack of communication between PTI’s negotiation committee, formed to hold talks with the government, and the jail authorities had also been evident during the previous meeting day.
