Peshawar: According to a spokesperson for the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), a crackdown against drug smuggling is ongoing in various parts of the country. At Peshawar airport, 30 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of a passenger traveling to Jeddah. In Islamabad, 31 narcotic pills were found in a parcel near a park, and the suspect was arrested.

The ANF also reported the recovery of 150 grams of ice from a parcel destined for Australia at a courier office in Karachi. In Balochistan’s Chagai district, 90 kilograms of opium and 10 kilograms of heroin were seized, hidden for smuggling. Additionally, 45 kilograms of hashish were recovered from an uninhabited area along the coastal line of Pasni, while 3 kilograms of hashish were seized in Hyderabad. Near the Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza in Attock, a motorcyclist was apprehended with 1 kilogram of heroin and 500 grams of ice.

In total, over 149 kilograms of narcotics, valued at more than 40 million rupees, were recovered in various operations, and 7 suspects were arrested. Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered, and investigations are underway.
