Karachi (News Desk) – It has been 24 years since the beloved Melody Queen, renowned singer Noor Jehan, left her fans, but her enchanting voice continues to captivate listeners. Born as Mehrun Nisa on September 21, 1926, in a musical family in Kasur, Noor Jehan began her film career at the age of nine and quickly became a famous child star.
Throughout her illustrious career, she sang thousands of songs and performed iconic national anthems during the 1965 Indo-Pak war, which remain an important part of Pakistan’s history. Her songs and ghazals received widespread acclaim and appreciation from music lovers.
In recognition of her immense contributions to the music industry, the government of Pakistan honored her with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award and the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
Noor Jehan passed away on December 23, 2000, after a prolonged illness, but her timeless music lives on in the hearts of her fans.
