Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, along with former First Lady Bushra Bibi, have finalized their appeals against their convictions in the 190 million pound corruption case.
According to sources, the appeals will be filed on Monday in the Islamabad High Court, requesting the court to nullify the January 17 verdict of the accountability court. The plea seeks acquittal for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
Imran Khan’s 18-page appeal alleges that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) acted in bad faith, misusing its authority and rushing the investigation to secure a conviction. The draft highlights that the National Crime Agency (NCA) agreement was not obtained, demonstrating investigative negligence.
The appeal further states that NCA officials were not included in the investigation, and the prosecution failed to present complete evidence to substantiate their claims.
The petition urges the Islamabad High Court to overturn the verdict, arguing that the trial was marred by incomplete investigations and procedural flaws.
