ISLAMABAD( The COW News Digital ) In a rare joint statement, Pakistan and 15 other countries have issued a stern warning to Israel over any potential attack or obstruction of the Global Samood Flotilla, which is carrying humanitarian aid for the besieged population of Gaza.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Ireland, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, and Türkiye signed the statement, expressing deep concern for the safety of the flotilla and its participants.

“The purpose of the flotilla is to deliver vital humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” the statement said. “Any illegal or violent action against this mission would constitute a grave violation of human rights and international law.”

The ministers stressed that the participants of the flotilla are engaged in a legitimate humanitarian effort and warned that any unlawful detention, attack, or harassment of the convoy would result in accountability under international legal frameworks.

The joint communiqué further emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian access, and respect for international law. “The world must unite to ensure that aid reaches those in need and that no party obstructs this life-saving mission,” the statement read.

This coordinated warning comes amid growing fears that Israeli naval forces might intercept the flotilla, similar to previous incidents in which humanitarian convoys bound for Gaza faced violent confrontations at sea. Observers say the strong language in the joint statement reflects heightened global concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza and the potential for escalation if the flotilla is attacked.

Diplomatic analysts note that the involvement of countries from multiple regions – Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America – demonstrates a rare global consensus on the issue and increases international pressure on Israel to allow the safe passage of humanitarian aid.

As the flotilla continues its journey toward Gaza through international waters, all eyes are now on the region, with the potential for confrontation looming large.
