Manette Baillie, a 102-year-old woman from Suffolk, has made history by becoming Britain’s oldest skydiver. She accomplished this incredible feat by jumping out of an aircraft to raise funds for three charities close to her heart: the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Motor Neurone Disease Association, and Benhall Village Hall.
Baillie has raised £9,000 so far, with a target of £30,000. She described her experience as “a mission accomplished” and recalled the moment she took the leap: “When the door was opened, I told myself, there is nothing more that I can do or say…only to jump.”
Baillie’s supporters gathered at the Suffolk airfield, cheering her on as she safely landed. This record-breaking skydive has not only cemented Baillie’s place in the record books but has also inspired her community and shown that life is still an adventure at 102.
